Weekly Values & Social-Emotional Learning
Since 2022, SJAS Patmos has integrated a comprehensive Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) program into our weekly schedule. Every Monday morning, students participate in values-based assemblies and classroom discussions focusing on empathy, resilience, leadership, and digital citizenship. This initiative prepares our students not just for academic success, but for meaningful careers and responsible global citizenship in an ever-changing world.
Music & Performing Arts
Our music program at SJAS Patmos offers students the opportunity to explore their musical talents through flute, drums, and guitar instruction. Students participate in school concerts, talent shows, and community performances throughout the year. Our dedicated music room is equipped with professional instruments, and students from Grades 1-10 can join our school band or choir, developing confidence, creativity, and teamwork skills.
Gymnastics & Physical Education
SJAS Patmos offers an exceptional gymnastics program that develops flexibility, discipline, and strength in students from Grades 1-8. Our state-of-the-art gymnasium hosts weekly gymnastics sessions where students learn tumbling, balancing, and coordination skills. Beyond gymnastics, our physical education curriculum includes team sports, swimming, and fitness training, promoting lifelong healthy habits and sportsmanship.
Art & Creative Expression
Our visual arts program at SJAS Patmos encourages students to explore their creativity through painting, sculpture, drawing, and mixed media. Students develop fine motor skills, spatial awareness, and aesthetic appreciation while expressing their unique perspectives. Annual art exhibitions showcase student work, and our students have received recognition in local competitions including the Samya Abo Tera Competition.
Student Leadership & Service
At SJAS Patmos, we believe in nurturing the leaders of tomorrow. Our Student Council, House System, and Peer Mentoring Program provide students with authentic leadership opportunities. Students organize community service initiatives, lead school assemblies, and represent their peers in decision-making processes. Recent projects include food drives, environmental awareness campaigns, and inter-school charity events.
STEAM & Innovation Labs
Our state-of-the-art STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) lab at SJAS Patmos provides hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for 21st-century careers. Students engage in robotics, coding, 3D printing, and scientific experimentation through project-based learning. The innovation lab hosts weekly robotics competitions, coding challenges, and collaborative engineering projects that foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
International & Cultural Celebrations
SJAS Patmos celebrates diversity and promotes global citizenship through international days, cultural festivals, and exchange programs. Students experience rich cultural traditions through food, music, and art from around the world. Annual events include International Day, Heritage Month celebrations, and cultural exchange opportunities with international schools, fostering understanding and appreciation of global diversity.
Field Trips & Outdoor Education
Learning extends beyond the classroom at SJAS Patmos through our comprehensive field trip and outdoor education program. Students participate in educational excursions to museums, historical sites, science centers, and nature reserves throughout Egypt. These hands-on experiences bring classroom learning to life, develop environmental awareness, and create lasting memories. Recent trips include visits to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the Egyptian Museum, and the Mediterranean coast.
